Prof. Padma Shukla: PRE Board Member & Associate Editor of PoP

The American Physical Society (APS) and the American Institute of Physics (AIP) have chosen/appointed Professor Padma Kant Shukla (RUB International Chair) as the Physical Review E (PRE) Editorial Board Member and the Associate Editor of Physics of Plasmas (PoP), respectively, for the next three years starting January 1st, 2012. Thus, Professor Shukla will play a key role in the Editorial Policy of these two prestigeous physics journals in the USA, in addition to acting as an adjudicator/arbitrator in cases where conflicts between the authors and the referees arise.
In the year 2011, the APS had selected Prof. Padma Kant Shukla as an "Outstanding Referee" for Physical Review Letters and Physical Review that are published by the APS. Both APS and AIP are the distiguished physics societies that recognize excellence in physics by awarding numerous prizes and medals. Professor Shukla is the recipient of the prestigeous 2005 APS Nicholson Medal for the Human Outreach through Physics.
